Perry has been working as a Butcher for over thirty years.At the age of sixteen he was taken on as Apprentice butcher by Murrays of Edgware road.

He very quickly established a skill for cutting meat and learning about the different breeds of animals. This became a passion developed into a talent and along with his flare for presentation and marketing of meat products quickly brought him to the attention of his managers.

This lead to him being head hunted by several other butchers shops in London, how ever the best offer came from a shop in surrey and he remained there for twenty years.

Perry was managing his own shop by the age of twentysix.

He was enthusiastic for others new to the trade, taking time out with them to train them in all aspects of butchery skills.

His natural ability to teach earned him great respect and therefore his staff were diligent workers and this lead to a good working environment at the shop. After twenty years Perry wanted a change and sought a career in the Free Range side of butchering and that is what lead him back to the heart of London and the The Ginger Pig.

With the advent of the Butchery classes it yet again gives Perry the chance to pass on his skills and passion for the trade but to keen members of the public .




Borut is originally from Slovenia a country where the old way is still the best way.
Apprenticed into butchery from a young age he immediately appreciated the skills that were passed on and worked hard to live up to the standards imposed on him.

Traditional butchers skills such as sausage making salamis an cured meats were things that Borut excelled at . His ebullient personality and cheery nature have added to the personality of the ginger pig and will keep you amused and informed on our butchery evenings.
